The "Panoramic Run around Burg Are" is a DLV-approved popular race organized by Selbstläufer Altenahr e.V., inviting runners from near and far. The landscape in the middle Ahr Valley offers a genuine alternative to asphalted city runs. The joint start takes place in the morning over distances of 19 km, 35 km, and 57 km. The routes are very scenic and pass by the highlights of the surroundings, utilizing parts of the Red Wine Trail and the Ahr Hiking Trail, and offer both uphill and flat sections.

Highlights

  • The routes K19 (moderate), K35 (difficult), and K57 (very difficult) are scenically beautiful (panoramic) running trails with longer uphill and downhill sections.
  • The routes pass by the scenic highlights in the area around Altenahr and utilize parts of the famous Red Wine Trail.
  • The K57 route makes a loop to Saffenburg and ascends the roof of the Ahr Mountains, the Steinerberg.
